Liquid Facelift Washington DC
What is a liquid facelift?
As we age, the face begins to lose collagen and elastin which contributes to sagging facial features. The loss of facial volume and elasticity also leads to the formation of wrinkles, lines and folds. A liquid facelift is a nonsurgical alternative to replace volume and also reduce the appearance of wrinkles. It uses a combination of dermal fillers such as Restylane, Juvederm, and Radiesse to address the volume deficiencies. Additionally, Botox or Dysport is used to relax the wrinkles around the eyes, forehead, and between the eyebrows.
In some patients the goal of a non surgical Liquid Face Lift procedure is to lift the entire face. In others, the goal is to lift or contour specific facial features. For example, under eye bags and dark circles can be masked by using Liquid Facelift techniques; eyes can be opened up and lids lifted; jowls can be lifted and diminished; natural shape can be restored to flattened cheeks or temple areas; corners of the mouth can be lifted; and bumps on the nose can be hidden.
Dr. Somenek prefers to analyze the entire face during your consultation and create a treatment plan to achieve a natural rejuvenation. Dr. Somenek uses blunt tip microcannulas to administer the dermal fillers which avoids bruising and virtually eliminates any downtime associated with the procedure.
How long will it last?
It’s important to understand that this procedure is not a permanent solution. A liquid face lift is not permanent and the fillers that are used, which are mostly composed of hyaluronic acid, last around one year. Some products last much longer than others and Dr. Somenek will be able to explain the differences between various filler agents. As always, Dr. Somenek believes that natural and subtle rejuvenation produces the best results to avoid the overdone appearance.
